Our Work
Take a look at some of the projects we have completed for homeowners across Massachusetts, from front entry overhauls and paver patios to retaining walls and lakeside walkways. Every job starts with a real problem and ends with work that holds up, looks good, and makes coming home a little better.
Front Entry Transformation: Walkway Replacement and Shrub Renovation
The evergreen shrubs had been growing unchecked for years, turning what should have been tidy foundation plantings into a wall of overgrowth that buried the windows and shut the house off from the street. The brick walkway was just as bad. It was never set on a proper base, so the pavers had shifted, weeds took over every joint, and the whole thing was uneven and unsafe.
KRD Landscaping removed the overgrown shrubs, replanted with right-sized varieties suited to the space, pulled the old walkway out completely, and rebuilt it properly from the ground up. The front of this home is open, safe, and inviting now, the way it should have been all along.
Before: Overgrown Front Entry
The old brick steps and walkway were cracked, weedy, and well past their prime, doing no favors for an otherwise nice house.
Before: Tired Brick Path Along the House
The brick path running along the side of the house had sunk and gone patchy, with shrubs crowding in and no real definition left.
Before: Front of House Needs Work
Good bones on the house itself, but the landscaping had gotten scraggly and the entry lacked any real curb appeal.
During: Walkway Taking Shape
Pavers are down and the edge restraints are in, with the path already leading cleanly from the driveway up to the new front steps.
During: Loam Spread, Almost There
Fresh loam is down on both sides of the new walkway, beds are shaped, and the whole front yard is just waiting on seed and plants.
After: Curved Paver Walkway and Planted Beds
A sweeping paver walkway with a dark border edge ties the driveway to the front door, with fresh mulch beds on either side filling in what used to be nothing but lawn.
Patio and Wall Rebuild
The old patio had seen better days, the wall was crumbling, and the surface was beyond repair. We started by demolishing the existing structures, digging everything out, and laying down a solid gravel base to ensure long-lasting stability. From there, we rebuilt the retaining wall with new blocks and added capped columns for a clean, finished look.
For the patio, we used large-format pavers arranged in a running bond pattern, accented with a dark border to define the edges. The result? A level, seamless surface that's built to handle whatever winter throws its way.
During: Walls Up, Pavers Going In
The seat walls are built and capped, the area is excavated, and the crew is ready to start laying pavers into the space they framed out.
During: Gravel Base Going Down
Crushed stone is spread and leveled across the patio footprint, giving the pavers a solid, well-drained base to sit on for years to come.
During: Base Work in Progress
Gravel base is spread and compacted across the patio area while the wall footings take shape along the perimeter.
After: Large Format Paver Patio Complete
Large format pavers laid in a herringbone pattern with a dark border edge make this backyard patio look sharp from every angle.
Hardscape Rebuild: Retaining Wall, Driveway & Entry Steps
The slope was sliding, the old steps were done, and there was no real path to the front door. This one needed a full rebuild from the ground up. We put in a segmental block retaining wall to hold the grade, regraded and graveled the driveway, poured new concrete stairs, and cleaned up the entry so it all flows together. Solid work that you notice from the road and appreciate every time you come home.
Before: Eroding Hillside
The slope had gotten away from us, weeds, loose rocks, and bare soil sliding toward the lawn with nothing holding it back.
During: Wall Going Up
Halfway through, with block courses stacking up and the stairs starting to take shape, you can already see where this is headed.
After: Clean Grade, New Driveway
Stone wall, gravel drive, concrete steps, everything tied together and built to last.
Granite Steps and Paver Walkway: Front Entry Overhaul
The old concrete steps and brick path were done, and the entry showed it. We pulled everything out and started fresh with granite treads set on a solid compacted base, a paver landing at the top, and a new walkway running straight from the driveway to the door. Granite holds up, looks good, and does not need much attention once it is in. This one came out exactly the way it should, clean lines, a proper landing, and an entry that finally matches the house.
Before: Worn Out Entry
Old concrete steps and a crumbling brick path had run their course, leaving the front entry looking tired and patched together.
During: Foundation Work
Granite treads are set on a compacted gravel base while the plate compactor and wheelbarrow sit nearby, mid-job.
During: Steps Taking Shape
The granite steps are stacked and sitting square, with pavers starting to fill in the landing at the top.
During: Pathway Laid Out
The granite step stringers are placed and leveled across the lawn, showing exactly where the new walkway will run from driveway to door.
After: New Granite Steps and Landing
Solid granite treads paired with a paver landing give this entry a clean, finished look that will hold up for decades.
After: Granite Steps and Paver Walkway Complete
Granite treads paired with a paver walkway connect the driveway straight to the back door, making the whole entry feel intentional and put together.
Lakeside Paver Walkway and Patio: Waterfront Makeover
The back of this lake house had nothing going for it, just a muddy dirt path between the house and the water. We graded the whole area, laid a paver walkway that runs the full length of the house along the waterfront, and wrapped it around to a patio tucked under the deck. Now there is somewhere to actually be outside, rain or shine, with a view of the water the whole time. Fresh loam went down on both sides and the whole back yard finally feels finished.
Before: Mud Path Along the Lake
Just a rutted dirt strip between the house and the water, nothing to walk on and nothing to look at.
During: Grading the Back Patio
The mini excavator is doing the heavy lifting, cutting and leveling the ground so the patio has a solid base to sit on.
After: Lakeside Walkway Complete
A clean paver walkway now runs the full length of the house, right along the water, fresh loam ready for seed on both sides.
After: Paver Walkway and Patio
The finished walkway wraps around to a paver patio tucked under the deck, giving the whole back of the house somewhere worth spending time.
After: Back Patio Under the Deck
Pavers laid tight under the deck overhang turn what used to be wasted space into a covered patio that works rain or shine.
